Pho’ night

OK, just to get revenge at Anh and Hay who went skiing in perfect conditions and who had European cuisine, we had Vietnamese cuisine last night! Now, where would you rather be? Carnegie or France/Italy?

Took a few photos which I’ll post tomorrow.

La Thuile & La Rosiere

Some pics of Day1 … pics of Day2-4 to follow soon.

As you can see, the weather was perfect – not cold or windy at all. Although by Day4, it was snowing and foggy.

It’s a really quiet family ski resort. There weren’t many bars, and was just about empty by about 7pm. Which isn’t bad coz it meant that we could sleep earlier and hit the slopes earlier. The mountain is big enough that most of the time you get the whole ski run to yourself! You probably see one or two people every 2nd or 3rd run. It’s so big, one the the run is 17km long! And you get to ski from La Thuile (Italy) to La Rosiere (France). It’s really beautiful skiing with the French Alps in the background. You really have to be there!

The runs are quite easy as well… was doing black runs with 73 degree slopes and some small jumps! I have a video, but not sure if I can upload it? Over there, the black runs are the no runs… bascially the experts make their own tracks. I said I was ‘intermediate’ and they basically locked my ski boots into the skis! I stacked it heaps but they never came off!

At the end of the perfect ski day, there are quality authentic Italian restaurants right on the mountain. Mmm… getting hungry just thinking about it again! I can describe it, but it won’t do it justice, and it’d be a very long email.

Jealous? …. no need, coz I’ll definitily be organising a ski trip next year, so come on over!!

Sports, sports, sports, sports

And for the fourth sports related post in as many days, I went to the Comm Games badminton last night. Turned out to be a decent competition, with Singapore, Malaysia, England and NZ all playing some fairly entertaining badminton.

Then there was this charming photo that I took.

And the big question, is this Singaporean player a guy or a girl?

TGIF

What do these four things have in common?

To work to work……

My days of sleeping in to 1.00pm, watching British daytime soaps and Star Trek are over. I start work on Monday with a company called Sames PLC. I will be based on site and working on a 6M pound extention to a school. Some how I don’t think I will be able to pick what coffee beans I get to drink but the job should be pretty cruisey.

Carbon bike frame here I come?? Not quite yet.
