Some pics of Day1 … pics of Day2-4 to follow soon.
As you can see, the weather was perfect – not cold or windy at all. Although by Day4, it was snowing and foggy.
It’s a really quiet family ski resort. There weren’t many bars, and was just about empty by about 7pm. Which isn’t bad coz it meant that we could sleep earlier and hit the slopes earlier. The mountain is big enough that most of the time you get the whole ski run to yourself! You probably see one or two people every 2nd or 3rd run. It’s so big, one the the run is 17km long! And you get to ski from La Thuile (Italy) to La Rosiere (France). It’s really beautiful skiing with the French Alps in the background. You really have to be there!
The runs are quite easy as well… was doing black runs with 73 degree slopes and some small jumps! I have a video, but not sure if I can upload it? Over there, the black runs are the no runs… bascially the experts make their own tracks. I said I was ‘intermediate’ and they basically locked my ski boots into the skis! I stacked it heaps but they never came off!
At the end of the perfect ski day, there are quality authentic Italian restaurants right on the mountain. Mmm… getting hungry just thinking about it again! I can describe it, but it won’t do it justice, and it’d be a very long email.
Jealous? …. no need, coz I’ll definitily be organising a ski trip next year, so come on over!!
