HAR MEE

Posted by Alicia on 19th April 2006 in Miscellaneous

Hey All,

Sounds like the Perth trip was fantastic and all food… that’s when you know you’ve had an awesome trip! Company, of course, makes it worthwhile too!

Anyway, as Tara and James will be leaving soon and we’re having a get together at Nick’s/Janey’s place on the 29th, I thought that we might sneak in another get together… perhaps this Saturday 22nd April for some Har Mee which I said that I was going to make aaagggeeesssss ago. I know it’s short notice and would understand if you won’t be able to make it. But if you can, let me know so I know how much to cook and buy from Preston Market on Satday morning!

For those hongkies who might not like HAR MEE, there is the option of Chicken Soup noodles…

ps: housewife dilemma:: how do i fold up alan’s lycra bike shorts? or should i just let it ‘hang’?

Perth (Easter 2006)

Posted by Geek on 19th April 2006 in Travel

Well, I think the 3 words that I would use to sum up this trip is - food glorious food! Man did we eat a lot (and well). Everything from fresh tasty mussels, prawns, squid, calamari, oysters, scallops, (can’t forget the LOBSTER) to some very sweet grapes, mangoes and cantelopes to tender venison, braised beef and other game meats to fantastic wines, cheeses and chocolates!

Anyway, here’s the recap on our trip for those who missed out and for us to look back on 12 months from now. (Anh and Hay pity you guys couldn’t be here for it). Photos will be forthcoming and to be added by Mr Level 10 when he comes over to copy them all from us. BTW if I missed anything, post it as a comment and I’ll update the original post.

TGI…Thursday? (in lieu of TGIF III)

Posted by HPG on 13th April 2006 in Basketball| Miscellaneous

First game for the new-look Triads last night resulted in a win by the narrowest of margins. Useful having a bit more size with Glenn and Eugene.

Anyway, it’s Thursday! We’re going to Perth! Save your comments on the trip for the previous post by Hay. Just thought I’d share a photo I took in Malaysia last year - I think it was in Penang.

Glenvale Crescent Criterium

Posted by Geek on 10th April 2006 in Cycling

“Carnegie Caulfield Criteriums continue Sunday April 23rd and conclude April 29th at Glenvale Crescent (Melways map 80B2). B, D and E Grades start at 9am, while A and C Grade ride at 10am. Please note there will no racing at Glenvale on Easter Sunday.

All holders of current UCI or Cycling Australia licenses are welcome (don’t forget to bring your license or receipt!) and non-members can have a go by taking out a day license for $20. 2006 licenses are now available at all CCCC events.

For first time competitors and the younger juniors, Tokyo Olympian Mick Hollingsworth conducts novice racing clinics within the E Grade race at Glenvale Crescent. For further details, go to www.carnegiecycling.com.au.”

Any takers? Maybe we’ll enter for fun someday…

It was a cooold morning…

Posted by HPG on 10th April 2006 in Fishing| Melbourne

We headed out to Docklands early on Saturday morning for some fishing. Chee was disappointing early on, only catching a few small bream on bait. He made up for it with a few better fish later on after my brother and I left - still on bait though. My brother managed three smallish pinkies on artificials (including one on the first cast) but demonstrated what an incompetent angler he is by getting busted off when it counted. I put in a half-hearted effort on the fly rod but switched over to the spinning rod when my mad fly casting skillz weren’t up to casting in the 20-30 knot winds. In the end, I managed one lousy pinky and this silver trevally.

That’s the Bolte Bridge in the background and my brother’s finger in the foreground. We were fishing literally right outside the NAB building.

Nothing huge but an interesting morning, nonetheless.

After this Perth trip, I expect to see pictures of some huge samson fish.

Nervous new mortgage owner

How much? - Too much…

Where? - Undisclosed for privacy reasons…

You guys can find out the details next time we catch up.

Now, back to my vegemite sandwich lunch…

TGIF II

Posted by HPG on 7th April 2006 in Stuff on the Web

w00t! 50th post! Well, at least the 50th post that I haven’t censored or deleted. :)

I missed last week, but now for some light entertainment. As if we hadn’t seen or heard enough about this already…
