- Keith : discontinued in Aus. from March onwards, we're only getting the 875cc "twin-air" versions
- SWAB : eh I thought M is looking at the 1.4 modern version not the old school mower type?
- Keith : of course not. the fiat 500 has an 875cc engine...
- SWAB : performance rarely is high priority for most female buyers.
- Keith : i suspect the turbo will be around mid-$30K. i don't think M would pay that much for a "hyundai" anyway
- SWAB : should get quite a thrilling engine response when mashing the loud pedal hard.
- SWAB : 93.75Kw/L 165.6Nm/L vs 90Kw/L 165Nm/L. Must be running quite a bit of boost.
- SWAB : still one heck of an engine. More specific output & torque than my RS.
- SWAB : Oops 93.75kw/L that's more like it.
- Keith : well, actually it is. 150kw/265nm is decent upgrade. visually though, it doesn't have crazy wrx-style bonnet scoop or wheel arches to differentiate from the base model.
- SWAB : 103.5kw/L!
- SWAB : quite impressive output from a 1.6l.
- SWAB : turbo appeals to me, but you're right it's not a massive improvement over standard model.
- Keith : i guess i don't mind the base model if it still has the twin-clutch 6sp. visually it's not much difference to the turbo version, «link»
- SWAB : don't forget a lot of buyers are turbo weiry, so will be on a look out for a non-turbo version when buying used.
- SWAB : surely you could trade it in and upgrade without too much depreciation, given it will be a desirable item in 2nd hand market.
- Keith : i'd be highly annoyed if i bought it, then the turbo model gets released soon after, for say an extra $5K.
- SWAB : dual clutch auto should minimise torque deficit.
- SWAB : Looks damn good.
- SWAB : I think that's a winner. Besides M isn't likely to need all the power and torque from the car all the time.
- Keith : 103kw, 167nm torque. torque is a bit down though.
- Keith : i was thinking this. arrives mid-feb. it's the non-turbo version though. still a respectable 100kw. «link»
