What a shocker of a day it was to be outside! Nearly hit 37 degrees with the hot dry northerly wind! Conditions were so appalling that some of us called it quits at Sandringham and jumped on the train at Sandringham to get back to Norm’s place. It was also a shocker of a day with the punctures with Sandy getting two punctures – front and back – before she’d even warmed up!

It was hot. That’s about all I have to say for this ride.
But also can’t forget to mention:
- Nick’s new sexy second wife
- Nick’s 3 punctures after HY left
- Our semi-rolling turns
- Keith and I both suffering from headaches on the crawl home
- The fat guy with really bad b.o. who we wheel-sucked for a few km’s on the way back rather than work against the headwind ourselves

Ahhh yes… as you can see, Nick has his legs wrapped around a brand spanking new BMC SL01.
I noticed Alan giving the two-finger salute. How typically Honkie, despite what he says. Strange distortion in that photo – must have something to do with moving the camera while it was capturing the image.
Conditions were absolutely appalling. On the return leg out of Mordi, I remember holding Alan’s wheel for about 10 minutes then slowly losing him. The heat was starting to get to me so I decided to slow it down a bit. Everyone else started passing me and I was really starting to feel sick. Eventually four of us bailed out at Sandringham and caught the train back.

Nick has finally flashed the cash and bought a new bike.
I believe the stretch in the picture is caused by the fact that some camera phones actually take several photos and average them out through some trickery to get better quality photos. I used to have an app for my P900 that made the rather average OEM camera/software work quite well. Required me to hold the phone still for a bit longer. I’m pretty sure the HP does the same….
Nah, it’s just the flux capacitor on my bike messing with the space-time continuum again…

Hmm…..all i remember is weaving literally on beach road and i was on the largest tooth where i couldn’t even push the pedal. Hell i’m quite proud to catch the train home and hey it even made me ring me ex to find where to get off to get to norm’s place; there were no need for heroes that day.
