YPR#17 – Carnegie to Mornington
What a shocker of a day it was to be outside! Nearly hit 37 degrees with the hot dry northerly wind! Conditions were so appalling that some of us called it quits at Sandringham and jumped on the train at Sandringham to get back to Norm’s place. It was also a shocker of a day with the punctures with Sandy getting two punctures – front and back – before she’d even warmed up!
North Road Ride – check
Gin: “Did you finish with the ‘mob’ today?”
Me: “Yes I did”
After my 9th attempt at the ‘moderate’ (slow down/fast back) North Rd ride since August last year, I finally did it. Finished with the group, averaging a whopping 37.2 km/h by the time I got back to North Rd (gawd I wish I had a lap function on my speedo to get the stats on the return leg only). Huge bunch today (90ish), messy on the way down with 3-4 abreast but then as soon as you round the roundabout everything sorts itself out. Hung to the back for death dear life but never really struggled too much, so not sure if there was a headwind or people just weren’t working as hard up the front?? Anyway who cares, I’ve had things work against me in the past but today the gods were on my side! Actually quite a large bunch finished today (40ish?) so not sure if it was a slower than normal day.
Have to work on finishing a few more of these rides now…
And oh, for once I actually ran out of gears on the HIGH side today… and who says you don’t need an 11T cog?? 
House of pain – Tuong’s bucks day
Just a couple of photos from the session at Melbourne Indoor Paintball. It was hard to get any good photos because it was pretty dark in there and Seb our intrepid photographer nearly got arrested for being in the safety zone.

Well, this site was put together to keep us in touch but for the most part I think I use it just to ramble on about cycling and avoid doing any work
Anyway HP thanks for bankrolling this nonetheless…. BTW do we have a backup yet still??
Let’s hope to hear more from everyone (about ANYTHING) in the coming year…
