Phew!

Posted by HPG on 19th May 2007 in Fishing

Almost had another fishless day but I finally managed to break the drought.

A skinny 30cm brown trout - small, but not too bad from these waters.

Well, this site was put together to keep us in touch but for the most part I think I use it just to ramble on about cycling and avoid doing any work :)

Anyway HP thanks for bankrolling this nonetheless…. BTW do we have a backup yet still?? :D

Let’s hope to hear more from everyone (about ANYTHING) in the coming year…

Bait *spit*

Posted by HPG on 30th May 2006 in Fishing

I passed on a fishing trip to the Tambo River with Abbott and Costello (and others) last weekend because I had some stuff that I had to do. They ended up catching some huuuge bream from the river which are worth posting here, even though they were caught on bait *spit*.

Just because I wasn’t catching anything…

…doesn’t mean others also weren’t catching anything.

Talk about fat fingers…

It was a cooold morning…

Posted by HPG on 10th April 2006 in Fishing| Melbourne

We headed out to Docklands early on Saturday morning for some fishing. Chee was disappointing early on, only catching a few small bream on bait. He made up for it with a few better fish later on after my brother and I left - still on bait though. My brother managed three smallish pinkies on artificials (including one on the first cast) but demonstrated what an incompetent angler he is by getting busted off when it counted. I put in a half-hearted effort on the fly rod but switched over to the spinning rod when my mad fly casting skillz weren’t up to casting in the 20-30 knot winds. In the end, I managed one lousy pinky and this silver trevally.

That’s the Bolte Bridge in the background and my brother’s finger in the foreground. We were fishing literally right outside the NAB building.

Nothing huge but an interesting morning, nonetheless.

After this Perth trip, I expect to see pictures of some huge samson fish.
