Bulleen to Glen Waverley with Alex

Ok, time to move on from my “one-hit-wonder” post status…

Alex and I made the tortuous bike path from Bulleen to Glen Waverley following East Link on Saturday. It was great fun.

Yes, this is an old photo! but I couldnt resist! For all you bike-path phobes out there, you should give it a try. As a matter of fact, I desperately implore you to take the route, so that there is at least one other person helping to ride through the tangle of cobwebs already forming on the maroondah highway pedestrian overpass. The lack of patronage is frightening.

I love a pedestrian overpass as much as the next bloke… what’s not to like? – pedestrian + heavy vehicle separation sounds like a good thing… in theory.

Maroondah highway overpassIn practice, the effort and time wasted taking such a convoluted overpass makes any potential risk of a road fatality sound rather appealing. I make no claims to any actuarial credentials, but I would humbly argue that risk of death from accidental used-syringe impalement or red back spider bite whist overpassing said overpass would surely exceed that of catastrophic pancaking by semi-trailer…

But that’s just my opinion, and after careful consideration, maybe it was a good idea to spend a few lazy million on an overpass that nobody ever uses… where else can Rudd money go now that we can’t shovel them into flamable ceiling insulation?

He knows what he likes

Alex is becoming a bit of a regular feature here.

He definitely knows that he likes girls more than boys…

Fortunately, he can be conned with a bit of food.
