Flash Mob?

I think I just had my first flash mob experience tonight. Gin and I just finished dinner on Kingsland Rd (where you go for ‘pho’) and we went to Liverpool Street Station to catch the train home. Now you have to remember this station is busy. It’s kinda like a Flinders Street except 5 times as big and 10 times as busy (you can’t walk a straight line from one end to the other during peak hour). It was just jam packed with people screaming, jumping, etc. Police were on site too and I did hear an announcement towards the end over the PA asking the people to clear/leave the station immediately. Unfortunately as a result of this ‘event’ (whatever it was), they also ended up closing Liverpool Street Station for whatever reason and we ended up having to walk to Moorgate to catch a tube home.

Speaking of flash mobs, here’s a good recent ad that’s also filmed at Liverpool Street Station which may have been inspiration for tonight’s ‘event’?? (Tonight was nowhere near as choreographed as this mind you).

Do you really need it?

The Story of Stuff. I’m kinda more conscious of what we use and what we waste these days so I found this an interesting video. I mean, why buy and accumulate so much stuff to begin with? (Especially when you don’t need it). Gin and I have bought barely anything since coming here (okay, our apartment is fully furnished but we haven’t really bought anything additional that we don’t use).

Anyway, so maybe you guys should stop trawling eBay all the time too… :)

Calling you geeks…

Two things I need to buy and I know you guys can either source a good price for me or provide recommendations on what to buy.

1) A set of ear phones with a 2.5mm jack (I’m sick of my standard O2 Atom ones falling out all the time).

2) A digital camcorder, in the $800 price range, as I want to buy one for my parents.
